cedar is a five-piece alternative rock band hailing from Gibraltar, featuring Patrick Murphy (vocals), Harry Meenagh (lead guitar), Tom Meenagh (rhythm/lead guitar), Daniel Ghio (bass), and Daryl Pallas (drums).

Formed in 2022, the band emerged from a shared desire to break away from the dominant local tribute and cover scene to build something entirely their own. The result is a massive, evolving sound, a dynamic fusion of alternative rock, grunge, shoegaze, and post-punk that the band has coined "grungegaze". Drawing deep inspiration from the guitar-heavy legacies of Brighton, London, and Manchester, cedar seamlessly pairs walls of beautiful, atmospheric distortion with driving post-punk rhythm and grit.

Following the launch of their debut EP Past Lives in May 2025, the band has kept their momentum with a relentless string of independent singles, "100%" in October 2025, "If I Knew" in March 2026 and most recently "Better". Known for their raw, high-energy live performances, cedar has been actively touring both the south of Spain and across the UK, carving out a sharp, unforgettable identity in the modern indie and post-punk revival scenes.
